ILLUMINATED WEEK

This week in year four we have been looking at illuminated letters. We designed our letters and we have designed our initials. Illuminated letters are letters that are bright and colourful that have vines around it. An illumination is an EMBELLISHMENT,or additional decoration that enhances the pages of a written, or manuscript page. The term, illumination comes from the term illuminate,or to fill with light. This effect is achieved with the application of gold leaf to the letters and images, which reflect light and appear to glow. This is and example of an illuminated letter.

On Friday 13th March we showed the t-mobile dance to all our parents. We did a competition about red nose day. The competition was designing our own red nose and the winner gets a prize. We had a special treat because some Caterham students came and did some acting and we learned some acting to.
