In year 4 this week it has been science week,we have been reading a book called the mixed up chameleon. In the book there is a chameleon and when its hungry it turns grey, when its happy it is shiny green.
When the chameleon is on a tree in turns brown to blend in to the trees,or if there is a flower then it can blend into the petals.
When the chameleon spots a fly he turns upside down and then he gets ready to
gobble the fly up! (yummy yummy!)
In the story the chameleon goes to a zoo and he sees all of these animals (e.g) there was a elephant,a fox,a pola bear and there was much more.
The chameleon said to himself what it would be like if he was all those animals, then he stopped and started to think that he had a elephants head and seagull feet.Just then a fly came fluttering along but the chameleon couldn't eat him so the chameleon tured back to his normal form and he he ate the fly up

woodlice investigation
In science this week we have been learning about woodlice. We got in groups of two or three, after we had chosen our partners, we into the nature garden and our teacher Mr Nicholson had brought some magnifying glasses and a bug catcher 3000, which turned out to be a spoon!
So the we had to dig with the spoon and if we found a bug or woodlice then we would have to
pick it up with the bug catcher 3000 and look at its legs and body with the magnifying glass.
when we came in we copied down the questions on the board (e.g)
method:

1st :
2nd:
3rd:
4th:
and a conclusion.
we liked going into the forest it was very enjoying and we liked it a lot.

Charlotte's web
In year 4 we have been reading a book called Charlotte's web.The character's are Wilbur the pig, Fern the little girl, Templeton the rat, the goose, the sheep, Mr Zircon the farmer and Levey the farmer's helper.
In the story there is a girl called Fern. One day Ferns dad walked over to the barn with a shinny axe. Fern screamed at her dad "where are you going with that axe?"
He was going to kill a new born baby pig, but Fern soon stopped her father and kept the pig and so her farther muttered to keep the pig and bring it up by herself.
We read a bit more but we had to write about how Wilbur was feeling, it was very fun and we want to read on.

In our drawings we put lots of detail and we had to make them look as real as possible.
year 4 had lots of fun yesterday but are pictures are still not finished. I can't wait to see the final result.

Habitats and organisms
In science we have been learning about habitats, a habitat is a home like a barrow to a badger and a nest to a bird. We draw our own made up animal that can survive in any habitat (eg) a polar bear with camels eye lashes to protect it from the snow when there is a snow storm.
We did a quiz on habitats but it was just to test us how much we know about which animal lives in which habitat. It was very hard but we enjoyed it very much.

of paper. We folded the paper in four, then we began are work.
When we finished owr pitchers we stuck them into are books, then we had to write a story using our imaginary pitchers to make a story here is a (e.g - of a imaginary world). It was hard but it was quite fun.We liked making our storys and we hope we do it again.
